Another Star

Clyde is in love again. Nick headed out the door to begin work for the day. The dirty old biddy watched out her window with her mouth agape. Nick… He happened to look up and see Clyde sitting there, drooling. The electrician sneered at the look on her face.

Disgusting! Nick walked away to work. Clyde gave him a little wave bye-bye. I luv ‘im! Still, he would never go for her. For one reason, he was married to a woman named Kay. Kay had been a friend to the old biddies for a long time. Speak of the devil. Clyde looked out the window to see Kay staring back at her. She waved and the wife closed the curtain.

Meanwhile, Liz might be love herself. His name was Nathan. He was only passing through town for the summer. Still, the boy stole her heart with just one look. Now, Liz won’t stop talking about him. Clover rolled her eyes.

“Why do you like him so much?” she asked. Liz turned to her at counter, smiling.

“Do you know what love is?” she asked.

“Well, yeah.”

“Have you ever been in love?”

“No…”

Liz patted her on the head. “Until then, shut your mouth.” She turned to the sink and began washing dishes. Clover rolled her eyes as she finished cutting up the carrots. She’s weird, she thought.

Kat always falls in love. Sadly, it does not work out for her too well. Thus why, she’s at Lewis’ house once again. Her aunt wasn’t enjoying this too well.

“Why are you still here?” she asked. Kat smiled over her tea.

“You don’t want me here?” she asked.

“Not really.”

Her niece frowned. “That’s not very nice!”

“Well, I like my solitude, thank you.”

“But I’m having a crisis.”

“Yes, you keep telling me that!”

“I loved him so much!”

“Yeah…”

“He was so sweet and handsome.”

“Yes, I know.”

“He was great in bed too.”

Lewis frowned as she walked away. I can’t deal with this, she thought. Kat took another sip of her tea.

Annie and Tucker have a shouting match with love. Annie finished polishing a glass at the counter.

“Tucker!” she complained. Her husband rolled her eyes.

“What is it now?” he asked. Annie leaned over the counter.

“You never take me out anywhere!”

“Of course I do!”

“No! I mean you never take me anywhere nice!”

Tucker looked up at her, narrowing his eyes. “Like where?”

“A restaurant or something.”

“Can’t afford it.”

“What about some jewelry?”

“Can’t afford that either.”

Annie frowned at him. “Well can I at least have a nice dress?” Her husband threw down the mop.

“What do you want, everything?” he asked. His wife snorted at him.

“Is it so wrong to give your wife something nice for a change?!” she barked. Annie turned and stormed into the café’s kitchen. Tucker only shrugged his shoulders. No need to get upset over it, he thought. He went back to mopping up the floor.

By evening, Nick returns home. Clyde gives him a goofy smile before rushing out to greet him like a little puppy.

“Nicky!” she shouted as she raced forward and hugged him wildly. Nick desperately tried to push her off.

“Gag!” he shouted. “Get off me, damn it! You stink!” Clyde looked up at him with big, puppy dog eyes.

“But I love you!” she said.

“Get off!” Nick shouted again. “Kay! Kay!” Clyde laughed over his screaming.
