Karen Boyle wandered into town on Sunday morning. She reached around for something to let her know where she was. The stumbling woman could barely keep her balance. She kept walking into walls and glass doors.

“Ow,” she mumbled. The old biddy rubbed her nose and went around the door. Karen was rarely out of her house because her poor vision. She didn’t know why she decided to take a walk around the town this morning. However, Karen paused and shielded her eyes as she looked down the street. The four old biddies walked out of the Sunny Plum. Her thin lips curved into a smile.

“Aisha?” she asked. Karen began waving her arm like crazy. “Hey! Aisha! Aisha!” The lead old biddy froze and turned around.

“Karen?” she asked. “Is that you?” The near-sighted old biddy ran over to her friends. Actually, she ran, bumped into a streetlight, stumbled backwards, got up, ran, ran into a truck, and made it over to her friends.

“Hey,” she said. “How have you been?” Karen was facing a store window.

“We’re behind you,” Lewis said.

“Huh?” Karen asked. She turned around, arms swinging about as she tried to feel for something.

“Careful!” Muriel said as she tried to duck. Clyde laughed the whole time. Aisha jabbed her in the ribs with her elbow.

“That’s not funny,” she hissed under her breath. Lewis grabbed onto Karen’s hand.

“Oh, there you are,” their friend said.

“How have you been?” Aisha asked. Karen moved her head as if she was looking up at the sky.

“Oh, I’m good,” she said.

“Still having eye problems?” Muriel asked.

“You can say that,” Karen said.

“Why don’t ya go to a doc or somethin’?” Clyde asked before dodging Aisha trying to hit her hit in the head.

“I don’t trust them,” Karen said. “I can’t afford them anyway.”

“Right,” Aisha said. I do not get her sometimes, she thought.

Meanwhile, Liz knocked on Clover’s bedroom door with a smile on her face.

“Go away!” her younger sister shouted. Liz pouted at the closed door.

“Aw, don’t be like that,” she said. “I just want to talk.”

“What did you tell him?”

“Tell who?” Liz heard footsteps walk over to the door before it was opened a crack. A light green eye peeked out at her.

“Greg’s been acting strange,” Clover complained.

“Oh?” Liz asked.

“What did you say to him?”

“I don’t know what you are talking about.”

Her sister frowned and glared at her. “Stop butting into my love life!”

“But…” Liz couldn’t help but smile as Clover slammed the door in her face. Sorry, little sister. I’m afraid I can’t do that anymore. She sat down in front of Clover’s door. In fact, I will sit right here and wait for you to come out and talk to me. Yeah. The university girl leaned against the door and covered her mouth as she snickered.

“Auntie?” the old biddies heard as they walked down the street. Lewis froze, trembling.

“No…” she mumbled. The old biddies turned to see a young woman with black hair to her shoulders wearing a black leather jacket and brown bellbottoms. She looked like she had been crying. The farmer old biddy sighed and pressed her hand to her forehead.

“Not again,” she mumbled. Karen broke into a huge smile.

“Kat! How have you been?” she said.
