Origin of Euphoria

Oh man, where to begin with all of this? Well, the idea stemmed from Skins itself in 2008. Yes, I remember it well. Skins came on BBC America around November-December '08. When I first saw the trailer, I thought it was going to be like a comedy-skit type show. The first two episodes were not what I expected, but I came to love it anyway. Now, before I go on, I will tell you a little bit about myself. My mind is like a sponge. I can get ideas from almost everywhere. As I was watching the first generation of Skins, an idea came into my head. What if I took Skins and combined it with the anime, Gravitation? At the time, I was also attached to the latter. I have tendency to mix and experiment with series and different ideas. My plan didn't go into action until about spring 2009.

It took time to build this whole section. Next came the stories themselves. The original Skins generation only stayed on for two seasons before switch onto the second generation for season three. This is where I hit a slight problem: do I just go for two seasons and move on or do I expand this generation out a little longer due to the diffraction in ages and cultures in my version? In the end, I chose to stretch this generation out for five seasons before moving onto the next one. Now, for a little promotion. At that time, I found a Gravitation fanfic site. So I thought I would post there. Because I didn't set that Euphoria isn't set-up like the expected shounen-ai/yaoi like typical Gravitation, it didn't get received too well. Yet, I didn't give up because I wanted to see how this would all play out in the end. I just deleted the flames that didn't offer me any ways to improve the story and moved on. To cover more ground, I posted on Mediaminer and Ficwad. One certain flamer troll flamed me three times after I posted new chapters on the Gravitation fanfic site. Annoyed, I posted this little message to her:

"To abcdefg, And yet you're still reading the fic? In fact, if you hate it so much, then why do you keep reviewing so? I think if someone updated a fic I didn't like, I would avoid it all together. Okay, I know you're entitled to your opinion. You hate the fic, I get it. But what I don't get, is why do you even care about something don't like in the first place? The fact that you keep reviewing so, make you a bigger "troll" than you say I am. No one is pointing a gun to your and saying read the fic. There is a magical little thing called a back button on the tool and people with common sense, USE IT!!! If you're trying to drive me away, hate to burst your bubble hon. But, I'm not going anywhere. I wanted to be here and so I am. The only reason I have been deleting reviews here is because I don't have the time or energy to get mad and start fights with pathetic whiny fangirls like you that I'm probably never going to meet in my life time. I've got better things to do with my sweet time than that. And as for the writers of "real Gravitation fics" laughing at me, oh well. Win some, lose some. It's not the end of the world if they hate it. I'm just having fun with my fic."

From there, beautiful silence. There is more to the little note that I wrote to the people flaming me, but I digress. From there, Euphoria grew to what you see today.

Now, we are heading into the final season for this first generation. By this time, Skins itself has gone through three generation and six seasons. (A seventh one with three old favorites from the first two generations is due out this July.) I might cover the other two generations and the seventh season in the near future. I don't know, I'll just have to see if I'm up for it next year.

    See you until then. ;)
