Sayonara

Tokyo at night. It's so pretty! "I love this city," Arisu said. "When I look at it, it's like it's always the first time." The bright lights always looked so beautiful at night. Easy to see why their were always so many pictures of Tokyo at night.

"Or the last," Arisu said. "Come on!" She and her roommate walked up to a food/drug cart in a back alley. Arisu bought some weed with her hot dog. The roommate looked on worried.

    "That's 242!" she yelped.

"Plus seventy-nine with the bun," Arisu said. "Times two, 642 and I've got onions, so that adds fifteen, so that's... six hundred and fifty-seven. Plus, the weed!" Her roommate looked amazed. Arisu turned to the dealer.

"Thanks, Ran!" she said. The dealer nodded. The girls walked away. The roommate snuck some ketchup and ran off. The girls walked further into the city. She walked up to a guard at a candy store. Arisu gave him the hot dogs.

"Dinner time!" she said. The guard gave her some coke in exchange.

"Thanks Arisu," he said. "Enjoy!" The roommate watched on.

"You'll have to remember next week," the girl said. "I'm not around, sorry." She walked away. Her roommate followed behind. She ran to catch up with Arisu.

"Remember what?" the roommate asked as she stopped Arisu. The other girl turned to her.

"He always forgets his dinner and can't leave his post," Arisu answered. "So I help him and he helps me." The roommate smiled at that one. They walked on again. At Tokyo Tower on the balcony, Arisu began rolling a joint. She lit it up and headed it to her roommate. She lightly refused.

    "You go ahead," she said.

"No," Arisu replied. "This for you." The roommate took it and took a smoke. She had never really smoked anything in her light. It was always snorting and needle injections. The girl choked hard. Arisu smiled and giggled a bit. The roommate handed it back. Arisu took it and turned to her.

"Face me," she said. The girl lightly pressed the burning end into her mouth and leaned in closer. The roommate took the other end in her mouth. Arisu cupped her hands over the middle part. The roommate took another smoke and coughed. They backed away and she laughed a bit.

"Hey, quick look over the edge!" Arisu said. She and the roommate did together.

"Wow!" they said. They laughed as they came back over to the ground. Arisu looked up at the sky.

"Does that scare you?" she asked.

"No," her roommate said. "It's pretty." Arisu smiled a bit.

"Yeah, it is," she said. "But, it'll all be very different one day." She sighed a bit. "So what does scare you?" Arisu asked as she turned to her roommate.

"Don't know," the roommate said. "My hair stylist, she would always cut so much off. Does this fringe look normal to you?" They giggled a bit. The roommate took another smoke. She coughed and breathed some. Arisu watched her smiling.

"Do you think you'll miss the things you love or just love the things you miss?" the roommate asked. Arisu sighed and thought about that for a moment.

"I don't know," she said. The roommate looked at her. Arisu sighed again.

"I think I'll miss the things I love," she said at last. The roommate looked on at her. Arisu turned back to the railing. She began craving something with some chalk that she had earlier in her pocket. Her roommate watched on. "Sayonara" is what Arisu wrote in Kanji. The roommate looked at her. The other girl turned her back to the rail and sighed.

"How will you remember me?" the roommate asked. Arisu turned to her and thought about that for a moment. A smile came onto her face.

"1,402," she replied. Her roommate giggled. She took another smile. They looked at the water passing below them on a bridge a few minutes later.

"Wow, look at that," Arisu said.

"Yeah," her roommate said. "All that water!"

"You think you can swim to the other side without getting tired?" Arisu asked. The roommate giggled a little bit.

"It's beautiful!" the other girl breathed. "Just close your eyes and take it in." The girls did so. Arisu breathed in and out happily.

"Fox fire, coke," the roommate said. She breathed hard and quickly opened her eyes. "Meth," she murmured. Arisu opened her eyes as well. She began to feel sad.

"I think I miss Sid," she murmured. She looked down at her feet.

"I miss meth," the roommate said with her eyes shut. "The intense high, chasing that dragon down for miles." Arisu looked down in sorrow as the night wind blew past her hair. She looked out at the water.

"And touches of pot mixed inside to send into high Heaven," the roommate went on. "And plus a look coke on top!" She laughed a bit. Arisu turned to her some.

"And ecstasy that is so small in your hand," the roommate talked. "If you blink, it looks invisible."

"The dealer's the groom, because he's so nice," she said. The girl giggled some. Arisu had left her alone. The roommate was alone in her happiness as she imagined the drugs she hadn't had in weeks. Arisu came back with a glass pipe in her hands.

    "Did you know," she began.

"Hm," her roommate said in a happy daze.

"If you think about something really hard," Arisu went on. "It'll actually appear." The roommate opened her eyes. She turned giggling. Arisu handed her the glass pipe.

"1,402!" she said. The roommate laughed. She held the pipe upright.

"You want to share?" she asked.

"That's really kind," Arisu said. "But, I can't. I need coke." The roommate drew the coke out of Arisu's pocket.

"What's you're excuse now?" she asked. Arisu looked on smiling.

"It's a gift," she said. "Leaving gift and if  I shared it, it wouldn't be a gift anymore." The girls smiled at each other.

"Go on, then," Arisu said. "What are you waiting for?" The roommate smiled. She put the pipe to her lips. Arisu handed her the lighter. The other girl lit up and took a puff. High Heaven, indeed! She giggled and Arisu smiled.
