Shuichi

    Monday:

Another busy day on campus. Shuichi had to keep his end of the bet up. A marriage proposal took such planning. Shuichi wanted it to be as romantic as possible. Yet, Yuki knew what his boyfriend could pull on him. The vocalist needed to come up with a fresher approach. Otherwise, Yuki would just flat out say no.

The morning before he left for school started out typical. They got up and got ready for the morning. Yuki stood in the kitchen making coffee. Shuichi packed up his lunch next to him. The best that they managed was a loving glance at each other. Yet, Shuichi couldn't say the right words. He hadn't prepared to ask him just yet. Words and timing had to be just right in this case. Shuichi was about to speak up when his cell phone rang. He went out of the living room and answered it.

"Casper?" he asked. "Yeah, I got the notes you left me." He chuckled a bit. "No, I didn't use the corner of 4-H this time," the man said. Shuichi happened to look over at the clock.

"Aw, f**k," he murmured. The vocalist waved at Yuki and hurried out the door. "What? No, no, no! Not you! Yeah... See you in the library," Shuichi said as he was out the door walking to school. No proposal today. Maybe later on or tomorrow. But first...

Shuichi opened his backpack and pulled out his notepad and pen. He wrote down a quick note, stuck it on the door, and headed out.

I really want to ask you something, but I can't get the words out right now. Please give me a little more time to try and ask you for what I want.

However, Ghost took the note and read it for herself.

    Tuesday:

Shuichi headed out to Hiro's moped in the NG parking lot to get his bag that he left for a couple minutes to answer his phone. To his dismay, his bag had been ransacked and the little navy blue box inside was gone.

"Oh, for f**k sake," Shuichi complained. The vocalist began to pick up the mess and put it back in his bag. He growled in annoyance and looked at his watch. He had no choice, but to go without for this mission.

Shuichi rode the bus to his cafe of choice. "Hi there, sexy, you saving that seat for me?" a middle school girl asked behind him. Shuichi shook his head.

    "No thanks, Yoko," he said.

"So today's the today, uke-kun?" she asked.

"Yeah, hopefully. I just have to get to the cafe," the vocalist replied.

"So, how will you do it?" Yoko asked.

"You know what, I don't how to ask him," Shuichi confessed.

"Why are lying?" she asked as she playfully pushed him in the head. Shuichi looked out the window again.

Meanwhile, Yuki sat outside the cafe table, waiting. He just got the text and here he was. Ghost walked over to him.

"/I keep thinking about buying one of your books,/" she lied. Yuki looked up at her.

    "Uh-huh," he said. "I see."

"/Are you waiting for someone?/" she asked.

"You can say that," Yuki replied as he looked at the wine selection on the menu.

"/Oh,/" Ghost replied. "/Who?/" Yuki made his selection of wine that he wanted.

"My boyfriend," he replied. "Said that he had something he wanted to ask me." The writer flagged the a waiter to make his order.

    "/Shuichi Shindou?/" she asked.

"Yeah," he said. "You a friend of his?"

"/I'm his ex-girlfriend,/" Ghost bragged. Yuki glanced up at her.

"Ex... girlfriend?" he asked, not believing her.

"/He's a bit of a tosser, really,/" Ghost lied. "/A stalker, always ringing me, leaving me notes./"

"You serious?" Yuki asked, playing along with her little rouse.

    "/Trust me,/" the woman lied. "/Keep well, away./"

"Right..." Yuki mumbled. "Yeah, I will. Thanks." Then, he got up to leave with Ghost smiling to herself as she thought that she had won.

    Wednesday

Shuichi found Yuki waiting outside the school gates. The vocalist perked up when he saw him.

"Hi ya!" he said. He made it over to his novelist boyfriend. "I really wanted to see you yesterday, but I lost something important I want to give you," Shuichi said. "Somebody went through my bag and stole it." Yuki frowned at him. The glow died from Shuichi's face.

    "What's wrong?" he asked.

"That Ghost girl came by the cafe yesterday," Yuki said. Shuichi went silent from there.

"Oh..." he mumbled. There went that chance.

    Thursday

Yuki got a letter to meet Shuichi on the bus. He had his boyfriend waiting.

"You wanted to see me?" the novelist asked.

"Yes," the vocalist replied. His boyfriend took a seat next to him. Shuichi drew in a deep breath.

"Good luck!" Yoko whispered before exiting the bus. Yuki looked on puzzled.

"What was that about?" he asked. Shuichi quickly shook his head.

"Nothing!" he lied "Nothing at all!" Then came the silence. The vocalist had the right words just hours before. So, where were they now? Oh, just go ahead a say it.

"Yuki, please marry me?" he asked. The novelist smirked at him.

"Sure," he said. His boyfriend looked up surprised.

    "What?" he asked.

"You want to get married, why not?" Yuki asked. Shuichi waited for him to say he was only joking and shoot him down. But when he didn't, the vocalist sat back with fuzzy pink cheeks. Wow...

"I don't know what to say," Shuichi said.

"Then, don't," Yuki replied. The vocalist only nodded, but he vowed to celebrate later on once the shock wore off.

The bus passed by a disappointed Ghost standing on the side of the road, waiting her obsession and his new fiancé go by. She walked away in defeat.
