Lawn Game

The next day, Dodge found Noiz eating outside.

"You!" he snapped. The kitty raised her eyebrow.

"Yes?" she asked, removing her earbud. Dodge glared daggers at her.

"You!" he snapped again.

"Yes?"

He gritted his teeth. "You must have cheated last night!" Noiz sighed and shook her head.

"Are you still mad that your team lost the quiz game?" she asked.

"You cheated!"

"You just can't handle losing." Noiz put her earbud back into her ear. Dodge gritted his teeth and yanked them back out.

"Hey!" the kitty snapped.

"I want a rematch!" Dodge hissed.

"Why?"

"I will not lose to you! Meet me down at the lawn at three o'clock! I pick the game!"

Noiz rolled her eyes. "Do I have to?"

"Yes!" Dodge screamed in her face. Noiz backed up, frowning.

"Please back off," she said. The kitty slid out from in front of him, packed up her things, and started to way away. Dodge's nostrils flared.

"I will see you on the lawn!" he yelled. "You can't run away from me! I will hunt you done for my rematch! You can bank on it!" Noiz rolled her eyes and walked away. But just like her, Dodge doesn't give up until he gets his way.

--------

By three o'clock, Noiz found Dodge waiting in the lawn with a mallet in his hand. The kitty held up her phone and groaned.

"Really?" she asked. Dodge smirked at her.

"I wasn't going to let you out this," he said.

"You really want to play this stupid rematch, huh?"

"Yes."

Noiz dropped her shoulders. "Fine, whatever! What game are we playing?" Dodge grinned as he turned the mallet in his hand.

"Croquet!" he said in a booming voice. The kitty gave him a strange look.

"Are you serious?" she asked. "I'm out of here." Noiz turned to walk away. Her rival raised his mallet in the air.

"What are you, scared?" he asked. The kitty froze in her tracks and sighed.

"You're not going to stop with this, are you?" she asked.

"I want my rematch!" Dodge shouted. Noiz folded his arms across her chest.

"And then you'll leave me alone after I play this dumb game with you?" she asked.

"Yes!" he said. "Afraid you'll lose?" The kitty rolled her eyes.

"I just want you to shut up," she mumbled. "Hand me a mallet." Dodge grinned like a wild cat as he handed her a mallet.

"Need for me to explain the rules?" he asked.

"Briefly," Noiz said. After Dodge gave her the simplest explanation of the rules, the game got under way.

End results?

One ruin lawn. Two annoyed and panting players. Noiz glared as turned to Dodge.

"Had enough yet?" she asked.

"One more game," he said. The kitty swung her mallet at him.

"Shut up, asshole!" she shouted. Noiz threw down her mallet and stormed off. Dodge broke into a huge smile and threw his mallet down.

"So that means I won!" he shouted after her. "You forfeit and I won!" The kitty flipped him off as she disappeared from view.
