Way of the Sun
Uh-oh, Aisha has another idea. The old biddies already made a run for it. That
doesn’t stop her from looking, though. She looked around the library. The new
librarians, Amy and Samantha stared at the old biddy as she looked around.
“Uh… can I help you, miss?” Amy asked. Aisha looked up with a determined look in
her eyes.
“Have you seen my friends today?” she asked. The librarians gave her a puzzled
look.
“No?” Samantha said. Aisha rubbed her chin in thought.
“Hm…” she said. “Not here either, huh?” She wandered out of the library lost in
thought. The librarians looked at each other with confused looks on their faces.
“What was all of that about?” Amy asked. Samantha shrugged as she checked in
another book.

Greg walked up to Allen’s’ door and knocked as he held his breath. He paced
around before he heard it open. Liz narrowed her eyes as she looked him up and
down.
“Yes?” she asked.
“Uh… is Clover in?” Greg asked.
“Who are you again?”
“Greg.”
Liz blinked. “Huh?”
“I’m Greg, Clover’s friend.”
The older sister tilted her head before she could understand. “Oh! You’re that
Greg. Clover went to the shop with our uncle.”
“Oh,” Greg said. “Well then, I guess I will come back later.” Liz suddenly
grinned at him like a cat as she grabbed him by the write when he turned to
leave.
“No,” she said. “Stay, come on in. We have so much to talk about.”
“Huh?” he asked. Liz dragged him into the house because he could say another
word.
---------
Aisha made her way down to the Sunny Plum Café. Tucker and Annie watched as the
old biddy took a seat, lost in thought.
“What is she doing now?” Tucker asked his wife. Annie frowned and shook her
head.
“Is there a problem?” she asked. Aisha lifted her head.
“Excuse me? Oh, I can’t seem to find my friends,” she said. “Do you know where
they are?”
“No,” the couple said. Aisha narrowed her eyes with a quizzical look.
“Are you sure?” she asked.
“Yes,” Tucker said. The old biddy pouted and frowned. Annie folded her arms
across her chest.
“Are you going to buy anything?” she asked.
“I don’t think so…” Aisha muttered, looking so confused.
“Then please leave,” Annie said.
“Excuse me?”
“Either buy something or leave. Don’t make me ask you again.”
The old biddy stood up looking like a lost little pet. “Okay. Have a good day.”
She wandered out of the café with a blank stare on her face. Annie had never
kicked her out like that before without yelling her head off. Was something
wrong? Aisha would have to find later once she found the other old biddies.

Greg sat at the kitchen table with a nervous look on his face. Liz stared him
down like a bobby about to interrogate a suspect. She tapped her finger on her
left arm.
“Tell me something, Greg,” Liz said. “Why are you so interested in my sister?”
He looked at her with big eyes.
“She’s really nice and pretty,” he said in a trembling voice.
“Is that it?”
Greg frowned with a confused look on his face. “I’m sorry?”
Liz sat down across from him at the table. “You see; my darling sister is pretty
mature for her age.”
“Mature?”
“That’s right. She’s not going to want someone who’s wishy-washy or flakey for a
boyfriend.” Liz narrowed her eyes at him. “And you, mate, are starting to head
down that run. It makes me sad.” She noticed the worried look on the young man’s
face.
“Am I really like that? I had no idea,” Greg said. Liz reached out and patted
him on the shoulder.
“But don’t worry,” she said. “I can help you fix that.”
“Huh?” Greg asked. Tis a pity he didn’t take Liz’s conniving grin as a red flag.

By noon, Aisha managed to track down her friends fishing down by the creek near
the woods. She put her hands on her hips and frowned.
“So this is where you lot went off to!” the leader said aloud. Lewis, Clyde, and
Muriel looked up with a jump.
“I told you she would find us here!” Muriel complained.
“Quick, let’s get out of here!” Lewis whispered. The three old biddies took off
running further down the creek.
“Come back here!” Aisha yelled as she gave chase.
